Get Fit 2: Day 7- Are Your Friends Holding You Back?

Get Fit Challenge 2: Day 7

Are Your Friends Holding You Back?

Today we talk about people who we surround ourselves by and how some are holding us back and we don’t even realize it.

The people who we surround ourselves by can either carry us to our goals or keep us from ever reaching them. It can be hard for us to realize when the latter is happening because they are our friends, family members, co workers, and generally people we enjoy being around. But even if someone is a good hearted person or someone we like, it doesn’t mean they are the best influence for us to achieve our own goals.

For example: If your goal is to lose weight and cut down on your bad eating habits but the friend that you hang out with a lot is alawys eating fast food and always gets you to eat with them, it will be extrememly hard to eat healthy. It’s hard to resist an nice cheese burger or supreme burrito when your friend is like “ahh man let’s get some burgers from in and out! I’ll buy!… One burger isn’t going to ruin your whole diet!” Ha it’s extremely hard to turn that stuff down especailly when your struggling enough as it is to stick to your new strict diet!

You want to be around people who are going to slap your hand when you reach for that french fry and say “Hey your on a diet remember? Let’s go make awesome fruit smoothies and a kale salad!”.

So evaluate the people you surround yourself by because studies have shown you become the 5 peple you are surrounded by the most. This means, health, fitness, and even income levels. If you want to achieve your goals surround yourself by people who are doing it or who have an even stronger drive than you!

This is something I’m struggling with quite a bit. Many of my friends have fallen into the grip of alcohol, and I find it extremely hard to break these bonds personally, as well as trying to pull the people I love most from these habits.

most of my friends smoking weed all day. last week i stoped. it is hard to say to your self you dont need it when you are sorrounded by 6 guys who smoke. good thing is: i can count on them. so they hold my back while i am in this challange.
friends are the most important thing in your life.
