Get Fit 2: Day 30 – Yoga Poses with Stefanos

Get Fit Challenge 2: Day 30

Yoga Poses with Stefanos

Today we go through several specific Yoga poses to target flexibility in the hips and hamstrings. Poor flexibility in the hips and hamstrings is a common issue.

If you are tight in your hips and hamstrings you will find this will cause muscle pulls/strains and chronic injury. The weird thing is you might be experiencing muscle strains and pains in other areas of your body (knees, back) due to your hips and hamstrings being unflexible and other muscles having to compensate.

My good friend and yoga instructor, Stefanos walks Reina and myself through Pre Workout, Post-Workout, and even Day-After Poses. Start implementing these stretches/poses into your routine!

Exercise #1- Pre Workout: Warrior 2
Exercise #2- Post Workout: Low Lunge and Runners Stretch
Exercise #3- Post Workout: Supine Hasta Padugasana
Exercise #4- Day After: Supine Badokanasa

These workouts are optional for the Get Fit Challenge. If you have your own workouts and routine, you can do those. These are well rounded workouts that will cut fat and build efficient lean muscle.

    Thanks! 🙂
I don’t understand “squareness of the hips”.
    Could you explain this, please?

Hey JeanLuc, no problem. When he says square your hips, he is referring to the alignment of your hips. A lot of times when we go into a stretch, especially the lunge one side of our hips will want to lean forward and go out of alignment. So make sure to draw back the hip that wants to lean out of alignment. 😉
